Chicago
2014-2020
While living in Chicago and attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), collage became my primary medium of art. I explored different styles and themes before finding my technique and voice. I was inspired by living in a big city for the first time, but also felt nostalgia for the rural natural landscape of my home.
Jewelry
2019
For my thesis exhibition at SAIC, I created three large-scale collages on gouache backgrounds. These pieces are my largest collages to date and feature carefully balanced arrangements of cut out luxury jewelry.
New Landscapes
2018
The New Landscapes series is my most extensive series of collages. I cut parts of photographed landscapes and manipulated them to create imaginary ones. These works range from deceitfully lifelike to uncanny and otherworldly.
Landscape Book
2016
Landscape Book was one of my first artists’ books and collage pieces. While making this accordion book, I created tiny imaginary landscape, which would later inspire the New Landscapes series. I struggled with a new medium and working at a small scale.
